Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Another 3-D computer animated film that I'm waiting to be out in theaters here in the Philippines is the third installment of the Ice Age series, Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. What I know is, it's going to be out also this month, along with Hannah Montana: The Movie and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Oh, it's going to be next week already. I just don't know the exact date. (Anybody knows when?) I've only watched the first of the series once. It was already ages ago, I was in third year high school then (I'm already working now mind you), which I think is around 7-8 years ago. Wow! I am that old already and also, because of that time gap from the day I watched the movie to now, I can't remember a thing about the movie. No recollection whatsoever. I can't even remember a name of a character. Not a single one. Clearly, signs of aging are already evident. Hihi. Ice Age 2, I wasn't able to watch it at all! Here comes Ice Age 3, which I am excited to see on big screen, and I don't know anything about it! With this, I might not able to enjoy watching it since the plot might be a continuation of the previous ones or there might be scences that refers to Ice Age 1 or Ice Age 2. I must watch both films before I catch Ice Age 3 in a movie house. It's a must! A MUST! Hehe.

Hannah Montana: The Movie Philippine Release Date

Friday, June 26, 2009

Obviously, I have been waiting for a lot of movies to be shown in theaters here in the Philippines. And most of them will still make me wait for a loooooonnnnng tiiiiiimmmeeee. ("Up" anyone?!?! Two more months... Two more months...) Good thing that there's one movie that's going to be out already within the next two weeks that I'm also excited to see. But not on big screen though. Harhar. It's the Hannah Montana: The Movie! Release date of the movie in US was last April 10. But here in the Philippines, it's going to be on July 8. I have no plans of watching it in a cinema , but my brother, who has a huge crush on the lead star, Miley Cyrus, wants me to accompany him watch the movie in a movie house. Being a loving ate (hehe), I immediately said yes to his request. I have nothing against it, and besides, I used to watch the Hannah Montana series every weekends during its first season. I just wish time flies to July 8 already and I'll have some bonding time with my little bro, oh, he's not little anymore, make that, younger but big bro.

"Up" Movie Date was moved

Monday, June 22, 2009
As I was watching the DCOM premiere of "Dadnapped" here in the Philippines yesterday, the trailer of Disney Pixar's "Up" was rolled during a commercial break and the list of the movie's show dates in Asia was again flashed on tv. Luckily, I was able to see it. Thank God I was able to catch it. Why? Because the last time I saw the list, the movie's Philippine show date is already on August 12. But now, it is already on August 19!!! It's one week later than the previous date! Why do they keep on moving the movie theater show date here in the Philippines?!??! A friend even told me that it was to be released already last May but MTRCB keeps on postponing it! Why Oh Why??!!? This is already out of my control. I have nothing else to do but wait. Sheesh...

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price Philippine Show Date

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Poster

July 15, 2009. The world wide release of the much awaited Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the sixth installment of the popular Harry Potter series, on big screen. It's a good thing that the release date of the said movie here in the Philippines is the same with the international movie show date. Being a Harry Potter fan, it is a must for me to watch this in a movie theater. Watching the movie's trailer alone is giving me goosebumps. In approximately 25 days, I'm off to the movie house with my friends to catch this box-office, high-grossing film (Well, I think it's going to be just that, I can foresee that a lot of people will see this on big screen, I just hope I'm not wrong. Hihi). Now, need to refresh my memory on what happened and the sequence of events from the books. Need to re-read the books from Book 1 to, at least, Book 6. I just wish I still have ample time to do and finish reading the books before July 15.

Poem?

Thursday, June 18, 2009
Just attended a possible part time job yesterday. A job that will let you travel, teach, interact with kids and be one with the environment all together.  In the information sheet, or application form, whatever you call it (it is just the same banana), there's a section there that requires the applicant to tell something about his or herself through an essay, poem or artwork. I chose to write a poem. It's been quite a while since I last wrote a poem and I might say, I'm impressed with myself that I was still able to write one. I also realized how much I miss writing. 'Kalokohan' writing. Hehe. With the limited time that I've got, I only came up with two stanzas. Let me share my *ahem ahem* "masterpiece". Hahaha.

Ako ay si *AAA* Ramos
Pagmamahal ko sa kalikasan ay lubus-lubos
Ating itong alagaan bago pa man ito maubos

My poem is pretty much straight forward. No need to analyze. No need to interpret. A poem that would never hit educational books. Purely for entertainment purposes only. Haha.

Disney Channel Original Movie: Dadnapped

Tuesday, June 16, 2009
One of things that I look forward to in watching Disney Channel is the Disney Channel Original movies. Sample of these are High School Musical, Camp Rock, The Cheetah Girls, just to name a few. These movies became such a hit that a lot of these movies' merchandise has been sold. That even High School Musical 3 was already made into a theater movie and was shown on big screen worldwide. Also, main cast of these high-rated DCOM (short for Disney Channel Original Movies) had the chance to tour the world and have a concert. To add to that, because of their popularity, you can just easily buy a DVD copy of those movies from your nearest typical record or video stores. I think these are the ones that were overrated, were given too much hype. But there are those that just remain 'silent', movies that maybe you will never hear of and never made it to have a DVD or even just a VHS release. Just like the upcoming DCOM, Dadnapped. I saw the preview last week and I am quite excited to watch it. It was already televised in US last February 16 and is going to be aired on Disney Channel Asia on June 21. When you are living in the Philippines or Malaysia it is going to be at 730pm.

Obviously, from the title alone, someone's dad's going to be kidnapped. And I assume that it's the lead character's dad (that's always the case isn't it?). That's all I know about the movie plot. Don't want to spoil myself by reading reviews. Besides, it's going to be this Sunday already. Waiting time is not that long.

Dadnapped

The movie stars Emily Osment (Yep, Sixth Sense star Haley Joel Osment's younger sister), David Henrie, Jason Earles, Moises Arias and Phill Lewis. Such a star-studded Disney cast. I would love to watch Phill Lewis. He never fails to make me laugh when I watch The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I also like the tandem of Jason Earles and Moises Arias in Hannah Montana. I also find David Henrie funny and cute in Wizards of Waverly Place. Even when he was still a kid and had a minor role in That's So Raven, he was already charming. With this kind of cast, this is a DCOM that I surely would not want to miss.

I have been meaning to blog about this since the day I watched this countdown on QTV, which was January this year. Disney Pixar's "Up" Philippine Show Date

Wednesday, June 10, 2009
I was watching Disney Channel Asia the other night, "The Wizards of Waverly Place" family sitcom had just ended, and while waiting for the next show to come on, the trailer of  "Up" was played. My God! Upon seeing the trailer again, I suddenly realized how much I wanted to watch the movie already! So sad it is not for another 2 months! After the trailer, the show dates for each Asian country was put on screen. And guess what, "Up"'s show date here in the Philippines is still on August 12! Imagine! August 12!  That's two more months of agony for me. I've been restraining myself from reading synopsis and spoilers, and even watching clips from the said movie since I don't want to have even a slightest idea of what's going to happen. For me it's more fun and exciting that way because you don't anticipate or expect anything. You would not prepare yourself  for the upcoming scenes. Your reactions and feelings towards every scene would be firsthand.

Well, I guess, I have no choice but to wait. Wait. And wait. And besides, what's another two months of waiting, I've been waiting since the day my eyes first laid on the poster and trailer, which was I think, way back March? I can't even remember. It's that long already.

Mickey Mouse

Monday, June 8, 2009
Mickey's my all-time favorite Disney character. Why? One might ask. Simple. He's the official and main character, or should I say, icon or symbol of Disney. One would automatically associate Mickey with Disney at first glance and vice versa. Need I say more?

Meanwhile, my favorite Mickey Mouse film is Fantasia. But, details of that film plus Mickey's evolution's going to be another post. This is all for now.

Disney Sing Along Song's Christian Buenaventura

Sunday, June 7, 2009
Meet my first ever crush. Chrisitian Buenaventura. He was part of the Disney Sing Along Songs cast. My mom and dad used to rent laser discs and video tapes from video rental stores before (yeah, laser discs and video tapes, and renting them are still 'in' those days) and they always see to it that we will have something educational and fun to watch over the weekend. And that's how I got to know the Disney Sing Along Songs. Never grew tried of singing along with the Disney characters and cast. Never grew tired of watching it as a kid. Never grew tired of watching him. Hahaha. I always requested to my parents to borrow it over and over again and it even came to a point wherein my dad needs to transfer it to a tape so that we will have our own copy instead of renting it repeatedly, which is more costly than copying it. I remember myself waiting for the show's end credits to just know his name. And look, I still remember his name and even got it right. I have been trying so hard to surf and search the net for more information about him but the only thing that I got about him is his birthday, September 5, 1983, same birthday as my older brother, but different year. Same with the pictures. I am looking for a clear and decent picture of him from the net but also to no avail. This is the best that I can do.

I am not even sure if it's him! He does not even look cute or adorable in the picture! He does not even look like the boy that I liked when I was still a kid! Just see for yourself. See a sample clip. He's the boy wearing a faded maong jacket (Just not quite sure if the jacket is really maong) over a yellow t-shirt in the video. He's also the boy that has a solo part towards the end of the song.

Siiiggggghhhhh... Watching the clip really does indeed brings back a lot of childhood memories.

Disney Theme Parks

Saturday, June 6, 2009
One of my childhood dreams is to be able to set foot on Disneyland. To take pictures with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and the whole Disney crew. To ride the riverboat. To enter the haunted mansion. Sad to say, that dream has not been fulfilled until now. But that dream still did not go down the drain. It is still very much alive. I did not lose hope. In fact, that dream evolved into something even bigger. Now, not only do I want to go to Disneyland, I want to visit all Disney theme parks! All o f them. Every single one of them. A simple childhood dream now turned into a lifelong goal.

There are a lot of Disney theme parks scattered around the world. There's one in Anaheim, California, in Tokyo, Japan, in Paris, France, in Hong Kong. Did I get the places right? I don't even know if I miss out one. I would still need a thorough research on this. I would not enumerate all the attractions, rides and places that can found in each theme park since there are too many and each offers something different. Enumerating them all will prove to be tedious task. Also, there's this Disney property called Disney Cruise Line, ships owned by Disney, the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic, ships that I would really want to board!

Disney Wonder

It is also a three, four or seven-night ship cruise that will transport you to Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in Bahamas. Yes people, Disney has its own island! Imagine that! Just by looking at the pictures from the net, one may assume that it is a beautiful and clean place. A place where you can relax and enjoy. I would definitely like to go there! It is now my official ultimate Disney dream!

And now, reality strikes. Visiting these places would undoubtedly require a lot of money. If I want to achieve this before I hit my 40's, I should start saving now and work extra hard! And if money already started coming in and funds is already enough for me to venture in this crazy idea of mine, I am quite sure, positive that this would leave me broke. But I can see that it will be just okay because I know that I would not be disappointed. I know that it would be a worthwhile and memorable adventure. An adventure that I would cherish and share (and even boast, hahaha) to people I know.

Hong Kong Disneyland Castle

Hong Kong Disneyland Castle

First stop, Hong Kong Disneyland. Target visit is before this year, year 2009, ends, late 2009 or early 2010. As for me, I need to tighten my belt starting this very moment. Bye bye taxi rides when commuting. Bye bye weekly hang outs. Bye bye impulse buying. Hong Kong Disneyland here I come!

Certified Taylor Swift Fan

Thursday, June 4, 2009
Well, actually, not really a fan of Taylor Swift, but a fan of Taylor Swift MUSIC. Those are two different things. At least in my world, I know those two are different.

I just became a fan of her music recently, and quite accidentally. Thanks to my sister, who downloaded all Taylor Swift songs and repeatedly played the tracklist the other night. Liked all of the songs the instant that I heard them.

What caught my interest is the country-type genre, upbeat, sometimes slow melody of her songs. The upbeat songs make me want to stand up and dance to the rhythm while the sad slow songs make me want to learn the guitar and play the chords. Lyrics of her songs are mostly teen related and straight forward which do not require deep thinking.

Before that "Taylor Swift Songs" night, the only singles that I know were "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "Love Story" because those songs topped the radio station countdowns. Even though I already liked both of it, I still did not bother to search and download some of her songs. But look at my ipod now! It is complete with Taylor Swift songs! Even created a separate playlist just for that.

"I'm Only Me when I'm with You" is my favorite track. In my opinion, not only can it be considered as a song for lovers but also for friends. Reminds me of my friends when hanging out with them. No inhibitions. Be crazy around them and be yourself. If time permits, I am going to make a video or even just a slideshow of photos having this song as the background music.

So far, Taylor Swift had already two albums released.

Taylor_Swift_Album

First Album: Taylor Swift

Taylor_Swift_Fearless_International

Second Album: Fearless

To buy or not to buy the albums? My simple and straight answer is no. Since I'm only after the music and not the artist, downloading the songs (which I don't have to do anymore since my sister aleady has copies, haha), and placing those in my ipod is enough. I am already content and settled with that..... for now. But if I am already out of cost-cutting mode that I am in and if I have extra funds to buy the albums, and mind you, I'm going to buy the original ones, I would immediately dash to the mall and purchase the CDs. I just wish the albums are still being sold in record stores or even online by the time comes. It is still something that I would want to add to my CD collection.

Disney Pixar's Up

Wednesday, June 3, 2009
disney-pixar-up-poster

Can't wait to watch the upcoming Disney Pixar's movie Up on big screen! The reason for that being is, first, it's a Disney-Pixar film, and I, being a Disney fan, would never miss out a thing like this. Second , after seeing the trailer, I found the chubby boy scout boy very cute that I even want to buy a stuff toy of him afterward! The grouchy old man character also seems interesting. The way he does not want the cute chubby little boy scout come in his house then after a few seconds had changed his mind and decided to let the boy come in made me smile. And lastly, the film is getting a lot of positive reviews and feedback from those who have seen it already.

Though I don't have any idea what the movie is all about just by viewing the trailer, my excitement of rushing to the movie theater is not lessened by that fact. I just wish that I would not be disappointed once the end credits start rolling.

Up was in theaters in US last May 29, 2009. I wonder when will the showing date be here in the Philippines. I still have no idea.

Now, who am I going to ask and force to accompany me to catch it on big screen? People I know will just prefer it to watch on DVDs or online. I do not want to watch it alone!!! Think, think, think! I still ample of time.

Disney! Warner Brothers! Pixar! Dreamworks!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009
Jonas Brothers! Taylor Swift! Hannah Montana! Disneyland! Harry Potter! Finding Nemo! Monsters Inc.! That's So Raven!

These are just some of the things or topics  that you can find in this blog. If you are the emo-type of person or the I-hate-kids-teens-stuff sort of person, then I guess you are lost, you are reading the wrong blog.

I know I know. Some people might think that I am already too old for the kind of material that I am going to post, but hey! What can I do!?! These are the things that make me feel relaxed after a hard day's work. Never fails to bring a smile to my face. Makes me even appreciate life more.
